As we celebrate our 50th Class Reunion in September of 2022, we would simultaneously like to support our community through donations to the Copley Outreach Center.   

The Copley Outreach Center provides food assistance to families in our community who find themselves without enough to eat.  Additionally, in September of 2019, the Copley Outreach Center started a program focused on supporting students who qualify through the Copley-Fairlawn City School District Cares Program by providing them with weekend bags of food.  

In December of 2019, Maryann (Mink) Henry was appointed Director of the Copley Outreach Center. The building, last renovated in 1995, was built in 1900, one of the original homes in downtown Copley. Not up to code, the structure needed walls, ceilings, lighting and floors replaced. Through several grants and private donations from local businesses, these renovations have occurred over the past two years, the last room finished in March 2022.    

The final renovation needed is replacement of the heating and cooling system. The current system is hot water heat and has been in place since sometime in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s. In the past two years, it has required major repairs, and it has been recommended that it be replaced with a Mini Split System. This system would be much more energy efficient and in the long run would save money in both heating and cooling costs as currently, floor air conditioners are used in the summer months. The estimated cost of the system is about $12,000.  

By donating to the Copley Outreach Center, you will be helping not only to preserve the Outreach Center building as a part of Copley history, but also to continue to serve those in our community who find themselves food insecure.
